HEB Holiday Cheese Picks for Every Palate
Apricot Cranberry Decorated Brie
Double creme brie filled & topped with a mixture of apricot preserves, dried apricots, cranberries, and almonds. A great addition to a cheese board, or warmed up in the oven for 15 minutes and served as an appetizer with some crusty bread!
Gruyere d'Aplage AOP Cheese
This is a VERY rare, special variation of Gruyere that HEB only receives once a year. Made exclusively with Summer milk when the cows are taken up the apline mountains to graze on the best grasses, flowers and herbs.
Nutty, fruity, and slightly floral undertones.
Pairs well with fig jam, but it's also great for melting into recipes!
Beecher's Flagship 4 Year Cheddar
New to HEB! Extra-aged cow's milk cheddar made up in Seattle, WA.
Rich flavor with a crystalline texture and tangy finish. "I love this cheese paired with our Casa Market Guava Marmalade," says Lindsey.
Cypress Grove Midnight Moon Cheese
Aged goat's milk Gouda-style cheese from Holland. It has a dense, toothsome texture with nutty flavors up front and a toasted caramel finish.
It's Lindsey's go-to recommendation for those who aren't sure if they like goat cheese. Amazing paired with sour cherry jam & a stout beer.
HEB Cheeseballs - Especially the Fiesta Ranch Cheeseball
HEB has a variety of delicious cheeseballs, including dessert options like coconut cranberry and savory options like port wine with walnuts.
One of Lindsey's favorites is the Fiesta Ranch which is only available for a limited time from mid-November through New Years (or until supplies run out). Cream cheese base mixed with Rotel, jalapenos, fiesta ranch seasoning, and rolled in pecans dusted with chili flakes, cayenne, and parsley. A little on the spicy side but SO good!
I wasn't able to find this one in my store just yet, so maybe it's coming soon!
Emily's Pick - Wensleydale Cranberry Cheese
Wensleydale is an English cheese with a long history. In fact, it was first made many years ago during the Norman invasion.
It's slightly sweet, soft and creamy. The cranberries in it are wonderful and perfect for the holiday season. It's sure to be a crowd-pleaser!
