The Hottest New Texas Snacks from Small Businesses
Updated: 4 hours ago
Texas is full of big ideas and even bigger flavors, and one of my favorite things is discovering new food products from local small businesses. There’s just something about seeing a Texas-based startup go from a farmer's market stand or a dream in someone's kitchen to a product on store shelves. I love finding these hidden gems, especially when they bring something fresh, bold, and uniquely Texan to the table.
If you’re like me and always on the hunt for something new and delicious, you’re in for a treat. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite new Texas-made food products from small businesses—these are the ones you have to try right now!
Must-Try Texas Snacks from Small Businesses
Tozi Chips

A new brand that I recently discovered and can't stop buying. These chips are made with blue corn and amaranth, and they are perfectly crispy and salty. Honestly, I don’t even think you need salsa for these—they’re that good. I've spotted them at Pullman Market in San Antonio, and both Royal Blue Grocery and Parker & Scott in Austin.
Oca Peanut Butter Bites

These peanut butter bites are uniquely shaped and absolutely delicious. They’re soft but have a little crunch, and the texture is so satisfying. Find them at both Royal Blue Grocery and Parker & Scott.
Good Dirt Mushroom Soda

Good Dirt Soda is packed with prebiotic mushroom fibers and natural ingredients—plus, it has 10g of fiber and no stevia. The Pear Ginger is my favorite! Currently available online, but hopefully back in Sprouts soon.
Austin Toffee Company

This toffee is seriously next level. Not too hard, just the right amount of crunch, and full of rich, buttery flavor. You can shop online or find it at Parker & Scott.
Rosa Salsa

At this point, I might be this salsa brand’s #1 fan. They grill all their ingredients, which makes the flavors pop way more than your average store-bought salsa. Plus, their tagline is "the salsa that sticks," and it actually does—so no more drippy messes. A lifesaver if you have salsa-loving toddlers (ask me how I know).
I’ve found Rosa Salsa at Royal Blue Grocery and Parker & Scott. You can also order it online.
Ava’s Grilled Flatbread Crisps

If you love pita chips, you have to try these flatbread crisps. They’re a little flaky but sturdy enough for hummus or any dip. So good! In Central Market stores in Texas.
Carne Shabu

Crunchy Mexican beef jerky? Yes, please! This Austin-based startup is new on the scene, and I love the texture. Their lemon + pepper flavor is great.
Mighty Beans

Slow-roasted edamame and chickpea snacks that pack a serious crunch - and a serious amount of plant protein. These started at farmers markets and are now on store shelves at Central Market.
Kinship Milk Tea

Dairy-free Texans, rejoice! This oat milk-based milk tea is made by a local small business and is now available at Central Market. I’ve spotted both the Earl Grey Milk Tea and Wuyi Oolong Milk Tea there.
Austin Pretzel Co.

Imagine a pretzel taken to the next level—smothered in rich, buttery toffee with just the right amount of crunch. That’s exactly what Austin Pretzel Co. delivers. Flavors like Sweet Vanilla Bean, Southern Roasted Pecan, and Lonestar Original bring a uniquely Texan twist to this addictive snack. Whether you’re craving something indulgent or just need a little crunch with your coffee, these pretzels hit the spot. Now available at Central Market and online!
Shoutout to local businesses like Parker & Scott General Store, Royal Blue Grocery and Pullman Market for helping me discover new Texas brands. I found many of these through Parker & Scott's Snack Club meetups.
